The permanent exhibition of the Ostpreußisches Landesmuseum (East Prussian Regional Museum) is spread over 5 floors and about 1500 square meters. It is dedicated to the four hundred-year-old German culture and history of that region.
NATIONAL HISTORY
About Prußen, Teutonic Knights, dukes and kings
Starting with prehistory, the story of East Prussia is told over two floors, concentrating on the time from the conquest by the German Order to the flight and expulsion in 1945.
NATURAL HISTORY
Land and landscape, history of hunting and forestry
Even today, travellers still marvel at the countryside and the flora and fauna of former East Prussia.
PAINTING, GRAPHICS
Käthe Kollwitz, Lovis Corinth, Eduard Bischoff
Some very distinguished artists were born in East Prussia; many were strongly influenced by the Königsberg Academy of Arts. Several painters, for example members of the artists' colony in Nidden, were inspired by the East Prussian landscape and architecture as well.

ARTS AND CRAFTS
Amber, silver, pottery
Great works of art were created by East Prussia's talented goldsmiths, especially in Königsberg. The Majolika-Werkstatt (Majolika Workshop) in Cadinen is also well-known.
AGRICULTURE
Trakehnen, Ermländer, Kurenkähne (Curonian barges), and Tilsiter
Country life, agriculture and fishing were socially and economically important for East Prussia.
