The Ostpreußisches Landesmuseum (East Prussian Regional Museum) is the only museum in Germany that broaches the issue of East Prussia’s history and culture. We are also aiming for cross-border cooperation with our eastern neighbours. As our task is getting more difficult, we need your help.
As a non-profit cultural institution, our museum depends on financial support. Our “Ostpreußische Kulturstiftung” (Cultural Foundation of East Prussia) in Ellingen is not able to support the museum with its assets. We are therefore almost entirely financed by the government.
The public cash boxes are empty, though, and the publicly financed cultural organisations suffer. Is a cultural nation such as Germany not obliged to support their appealing museums?
