Museum Collection

The heart of our museum

Since the foundation of the museum with the help of private and public support, an excellent high-quality and diverse collection of 17000 items was established, including about 10000 graphics, 700 paintings, 2700 objects of general cultural history, and 1300 objects associated with natural history.

There are also thousands of archived documents and photographs, and over 5000 postcards in our collection. In accordance with our statutes, most of the objects go to the Kulturzentrum Ostpreußen (East Prussian Centre of Culture) in Ellingen/Bavaria

Unfortunately, the necessary means for a systematic extension of our collection have decreased over the last couple of years. Therefore, the museum depends on your support to fill the gaps in our collection. Please help!  >>>mehr

Meanwhile, the cultural goods have almost completely been registered digitally. Since 2009, we have been working with First Rumos; before that we used the documentation system Adlib.  

The climate in our exhibition and storage areas is constantly monitored to ensure the safety of our collection. The building is equipped with a modern burglar- and fire-alarm system. The storage area is over 280 sq., and the objects are stored in professional roll-fronted cupboards.
