ARRIVAL BY TRAIN
Lüneburg is located only 30 min from Hamburg and 50 min from Hannover by train (IC / Metronom).

The museum is within 15 min walking distance from the station. There are also many buses running in that direction.
ARRIVAL BY CAR
From Hamburg
- Take the motorway A 7 towards Hannover up to Maschener Kreuz
- From Maschener Kreuz take the A 250 towards Lüneburg
- Exit B 209 Lübeck/ Adendorf/ Lüneburg towards Lüneburg Stadtmitte (city centre)
From Hannover
- Take the A 7 towards Hamburg
- Exit Soltau- Ost, take the B 209 towards Lüneburg
- Exit Embsen/ Barnstedt, turn left to Rettmer/ Lüneburg
- Follow the road to the place-name sign Lüneburg and than continue to the centre (Zentrum)

Please notice
There is no car parking for visitors at the museum. Use the car parks "Stadtmitte" or "Theater" instead. The museum is located in the historic town centre.
Arrival by bus
You reach the museum within a few minutes walk of the "Am Sande" bus stop
which is served by most bus routes.
